Holiday decisions

We don't know where to go on holiday. Any ideas? We'd quite like to go to Boston and New England, but that should really be done in the fall rather than the summer, but Steph only gets one week off in October, and it would be a shame to only go for a week. We could go down to Spain and stay with Steph's parents in her uncle's villa (what do you think Jonathan and Janet?!). Then again, I quite fancy doing the inter rail thing around eastern Europe. I reckon that would be an adventure. Even more of an adventure would be a trip to China and Japan. My friend Charles is in Toyko, so maybe we could stay with him for a bit, and China faciniates me, although to be honest I know little about it. Plus, if we do China and Japan there's a fair chance we could work it out so we fly back via, you guessed it, Vancouver. That idea makes us smile. Then again, I like the idea of a more active holiday - maybe planting trees in Costa Rica or something like that. There's just tooo many options! Arh! And its getting late, so we should really book something soon. Any ideas would be very welcome.

Sofas

Our sofas arrived yesterday after what seemed an age. Well worth it though. We're very pleased with them. Not quite sure the colour goes with the darker colour we've painted some of the lounge walls, but tough - that's how it will be for a while now! Also bought an xbox this week. Yes, I have finally entered the console generation. Or, alternatively speaking, Steph has finally relented and let me have one. Anyway, as the new xbox 360 is now out, the old xbox is not quite reasonably priced second hand, and there's loads of cheap used games for it as well. Hours of entertainment (so long as Steph's not watching neighbours).

golf and ships and sofas

Hello again. As mentioned before Steph's brother (Tim) and girlfriend (Nalalie) came down over the weekend. We showed them round Southampton and I pretended I was still in Vancouver by getting Starbucks to make me a mint moc-chip frappachino, even though it wasn't on the menu. Anyway, then we went off and played pitch and putt, which I thought was great as i'd been out on the driving range on Friday and gotten into it. I think Steph got a little more wound up with it.
We saw the big ship - Freedom of the Seas, I might most a photo, but we weren't in the best position for it. Ooh, and I made a delicious cappucino cake. Mmmmm....
The sofas arrive a week today, which will be a great relief as that futon is not getting any more comfortable.
We're also looking for a new car. We've driven a civic and celica so far and will have a go in a puma on Saturday.
