Nice and clean garage

We eventually saw the inside of the garage of the house we're buying about 30 minutes ago. And I'm glad to say it is very neat and tidy, and nothing has been left. We were dreading finding a load of junk in there, or a dead body or, if we were lucky, a car! So hopefully we might exchange either early next week, or perhaps even Friday this week. Will keep you posted...

P.S. it snowed again today. Well a mixture of snow and hail actually. And the hail settled, turning Southampton white for about half an hour. it's melted now!

Pancake Photos

Well, I said I'd upload a couple of photos so here they are. The top one shows everyone getting ready for their flying lesson while down below, Richard looks highly impressed as I expertly flip a pancake.

Pancakes and Snow

I know its not pancake day yet but we were flipping pancakes last night at our church housegroup. I will post a photo or two later, but I did manage to flip two at the same time (one pan in each hand) and loose to Sam in a pancake flipping race (10 flips to 14 over 10 seconds). Top fillings were ham, cheese and maple syrup (mmm...), classic sugar and lemon, chocolate spread (Green & Blacks, not nutella, obviously) and banana and finally, ice cream (and more maple syrup).

Anyway, today it is snowing! It's been at it for a couple of hours, but it hasn't started to lay yet. Hopefully it'll wait until I get home before it shuts down the entire railway network

Got a dold

Yes, that's right a cold. So not a particulary exciting weekend. Aches and pains, runny nose, headaches. Lovely! Things are moving forward with the house. The solicitor is waiting for the reply to just one more query now, so once that's back and we've (eventually) seen the garage abd the alarm is sorted, we'll be ready to exchange!

So, hopefully I'll be feeling better tomorrow for work, and who know's by the end of the week we might have exchanged!

Zoo Time

Yesterday we went to the zoo! Marwell Zoo to be precise. Only a 20 minute drive away but Steph had never been there and I'd only been there before as part of my university course. We saw loads of animals and the weather held up too.
Today we didn't do much, but we did visit the Honda garage and had a look at the new Civic. Very nice. Maybe once we've moved!

Half Term

Hi there. It's half term this week so Steph's off all week. I've taken today, tuesday and wednesday off. We were thinking of going away, but there didn't seem to be any good deals around, so we're staying put. Steph's parents came round yesterday so we showed them the new house. The survey should be carried out today. It was supposed to be last week, but there was some type of mix up with the keys apparently and the surveyor couldn't get in!

We also went to Romsey with Steph's parents yesterday. We saw the first snowdrops of spring, and also Romsey Abbey, which is over 800 years old. See for yourself below!

House Move Update

The survey is being carried out on our new house today and the necessary searches are underway. Its good that things are moving forward, but we are still looking for answers on the annual management fee (there are some communal gardens within the develoment), access to the garage (the estate agent/ realtor doesn't have a key and needs to change the lock) and sorting out the alarm, which currently goes off if you turn on the electricity!

Trip to see Grandad and Jean

Yesterday we drove up to Linconshire to visit my Grandad and his wife Jean. Grandad is 96 and still going strong! Here's a photo of us in the pub we went to for lunch. From left to right: Grandad, Dad, Jean, Steph, me!

The week flies by

I think time goes quicker as we get older. I must be getting older fast in that case. This week seems to have shot past. The house move continues to plod along. Hopefully surveys and searches will be carried out next week. We'll also need to have another think about carpets and sofas, and find out whether we can get the carpet installed before we move in, which would be very useful.

We're off to see my Grandad tomorrow. I haven't seen him since we got back, and we have loads of photos for him of Canada which he won't have seen. Whose garndparents use email and the internet? Not mine for sure!

Oh, and thanks for the email feedback on the picture of the mould in the freezer. That one seems to have caught everyone's attention!
